Dr. Jan Hannemann is the Head of System Design at the German National Library. He received a Diplom (M.Sc.) in Applied System Science from the University of Osnabrück (Germany), a M.Sc. in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology (USA), and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of British Columbia (Canada). Before joining the German National Library, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Tokyo, where he continued his research in the area of software engineering. He is currently managing the German National Library's Linked Data activities.
