Marcia Zeng is a professor at Kent State University. She has been involved in the development and research of knowledge organization systems for over 20 years and has been contributing to related standards including NISO Z39.19 and ISO 25964 for controlled vocabularies. She is also the chair of IFLA Working Group that develops the model of Functional Requirements for Subject Authority Data (FRSAD), which is the third member of the FRBR family. She is an Invited Expert on the W3C Library Linked Data Incubator Group. Her recent research include 1) using SKOS for the integrated KOS (such as integrated classification system and thesaurus), 2) producing LOD enabled bibliographical data from existing open access repositories related to Agriculture, Food, and Environment, and 3) connecting libraries to the unfamiliar data and metadata resources in the LOD Universe through analyzing and aligning metadata elements (properties) used by different communities and data providers beyond LAM.
Working with FAO AIMS to prepare a recommendations for producing LOD enabled bibliographical data (LODE-BD) from existing open access repositories related to Agriculture, Food, and Environment, for the VOA3R project.
