I am an associate research fellow at Acamedia Sinica, Taiwan, working at both the Institute of Information Science (IIS) and the Research Center for Information Technology Innovation (CITI). I do research in programming languages, web technologies, geo-spatial informatics, and 'Internet and Society'. I am the project lead of Creative Commons Taiwan (http://creativecommons.org.tw/), and participate in project OSSF (OSSF Supports Software Freedom; http://openfoundry.org). Both CC Taiwan and OSSF are hosted at CITI, Academia Sinica. We have been working on linking event descriptions in texts (such as those found in ethnographies) for a while. Specifically we use semantic web and linked data methods/tools to represent and reason about settlement migration history about Taiwan aboriginals. Right now we are very interested in a LOD approach to gazetteers and biographies.
