Libraries, Archives & Museums (LAMs)

Libraries, archives and museums house the things that people have collected over centuries. Libraries, archives and museums, commonly referred to as LAMs, co-exist in different institutions or organizations.

Although the collections may be informal at the time of collection, they’re eventually institutionalized and stored over a long period.

LAMs evolved separately, but increasingly work together in the information age due to new technologies around communications and information. Various important commonalities were involved in the creation of knowledge communities, including their maintenance.
